Magical Day

My partner Alex and I got married at Hurdwick in the summer (August 2025) and it was the most perfect day. The grounds are beautiful with huge open spaces, and views of the moors with real thought gone into how each area is used. Around the barn we had a field area where the ceremony was held in the sunshine, a separate field for a fire pit and marshmallows in the evening and a lower lawn area for lawn games. There is an area you can walk round which feels like a mini jungle with banana trees and even a built in seating area in the old quarry where we hosted a film night the evening before the wedding. There are plenty of places for picture opportunities and one of our highlights was driving around in the golf buggy to get there!
Martin and his family were all so lovely and accommodating throughout. When planning the wedding they were really flexible with us viewing the venue on multiple occasions to plan how to set it up. The space is like a blank canvas so you can do with it what you’d like. We opted for a rustic look, arranged for delivery of tables and catering equipment in the week leading up to the day, which they were really flexible with.
The accommodation on site feels luxurious and was absolutely perfect for the bridal party to get ready in – the lighting was good and there was lots of space for us all to get our hair and make up done, and all just a few steps away from the barn where we got married, making it stress free.
Overall, Hurdwick provides a really flexible space that gives you the creative freedom to create the wedding that you want to have. Martin and his family make this possible by being really accommodating and easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. We had the best day and couldn’t think of a better place to get married or a better team to help bring the vision to life.
